Free Palestine
4ish”x4ish” — 2024
————————-
the first letterpress print i’ve done in a while, with support from charlie andrés. letterpress requires a certain diligence, persistence, and precision that mirrors what is required for successful resistance efforts. we try something, fuck up a little, learn from our mistakes, and keep going. we study under those who came before us, who’ve been doing this longer. we struggle with the tools, tactics, and technologies we’ve inherited, and adapt them for our present conditions.
none of this is metaphorical — decolonization is material, tactile, and literal — rather, letterpress (and i’d argue printmaking more broadly) allows us to practice embodying the qualities and perspectives we need in order to fight and win.
description: a small square letterpress print. it reads “free palestine by any means necessary” in red ink, each word a different size and typeface
